The course aims to provide an advanced knowledge of global politics and public policy; it uses concepts, theories and empirical evidence from politics, public policy and international relations to understand real-world policy problems across different sectors of the global economic and political system; students explore topics in political theory, political science and sociology through a variety of option modules and undertake a dissertation; students choose from a range of option modules normally available in British, US and European government and politics, international relations, international security, and US foreign policy, politics of globalisation and international political economy, politics, policy and administration of the EU, political theory and political sociology, war, conflict, nationalism, politics and religion, policy analysis, policy-making processes and comparative public policy, public management and public sector reform and research methods.
