Course Description
German: Understanding modern Germany, its language & its culture, is one of the chief aims of the Dept. Essential language skills & a range of optional modules. Options in levels 2 and 3 on literature, contemporary issues & specialised language skills. Period abroad in a German speaking country. History of Art: will give you a critical knowledge of the objects, methods and theories relevant to a study of Western visual arts in their cultural context as well as training and practice in the skills necessary for such study.

Assessment method
Modules are normally assessed at the end of the semester in which they are taught; the form of assessment will vary according to the individual modules, and may include a combination of different formats, e.g. formal written examinations and continuous assessment. Your degree will be assessed on your performance in all modules in the upper years of your programme, including any elective modules.
