The German degree equips students with advanced skills in the German language, as well as offering a broad range of specialised and detailed insights into the culture, society and history of the German-speaking lands; at the centre of the degree is the language itself with core modules which develop students� language skills year on year, focusing on practical areas such as the language required for the year abroad and the world of work; this creative studies degree allows students to pursue an interest in a variety of related subject areas: Creative writing, American literature and culture, film studies, theatre studies, journalism, media and/or English; the degree also aims to develop students creative abilities through practice and consideration of that practice, while also honing their critical understanding in the subject areas of their choice.
