Applicants study the economic, political and social issues surrounding the environment, policy and management; during year 1 students take modules in geography including an introduction to geographical information systems, interpreting geographical data and a residential field course; in human geography, introductions are provided to cultural and historical, economic, social, rural and urban geography; business themes include business economics, entrepreneurship and business, and people and organisations; In year 2 students take a module in techniques in human geography and a core module on economic geography; in addition students follow 2 optional pathways from a choice of 5 which include geographical information science, rural environmental geography, medical geography and cultural and historical geography; business themes include technology and organisation, marketing strategy, managing the marketing mix and contemporary economic policy; year 3 involves the research and production of a 10,000 word dissertation on a chosen topic, together with modules on the geographies of money and geographies of fashion and food; business themes are human resource management and strategic management.
