This degree programme presents a unique opportunity for students to investigate at first hand, some of the diverse physical environments, societies and cultures in the USA or Canada; students spend the second academic year of this programme based at a leading university in North America, whereby they experience different approaches to tackling geographical issues, get involved in alternative styles of learning and work with fellow students from a range of cultural and social backgrounds; the specific modules that students follow depend on the particular university that they attend, but the institutions with which we have links all offer modules that are complimentary to our degree programmes and the marks that are awarded in North America count towards the final degree; students have extensive opportunities for fieldwork and travel in North America and for undertaking research towards their dissertation.
