Course Description
The course aims to provide a broad-based education in social science research, human geography, and geographical information science. Students gain knowledge, skills and understanding generic to social science research. They will also develop their understanding of concerns, philosophies and methods in contemporary human geography and geographical information science, and the interactions with them. Students will develop practical skills in qualitative, quantitative, textual and (carto) graphic techniques.
Course Fees
Standard UK/EU fees for 2007/08: £3240 full time; £1620 part time, except for the following MSc courses: Masters of Business Administration £8800; Applied Criminology & Forensic Psychology £3920; Bioinformatics £4390; Business Analysis & Finance and Financial Economics £5225; Finance, Management & Marketing £6270. Part time exceptions include: MA in Museum Studies Conversion Course & MSc in Pain Management.

Entry Requirements
An upper second class degree is necessary for consideration for an ESRC 1+3 scholarship. Applicants whose first language is not English & have not resided in the UK for three years immediately prior to course commencement, are required to provide scores of: 6.0 IELTS or TOEFL scores of 575/233/90 - paper/computer/internet - (for Chemistry, Computing, Engineering, Geography/Geology, Maths, Physics/Astronomy) & IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 575/233/90 for all other courses.
