The course is intended as an overview of the GCSE syllabus covering the three disciplines of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The course covers an assessed practical component. The course emphasises the application of science in areas of the three main disciplines. The areas of application include: Nutrition, Digestion, Oil Refining, Infection Control, Inheritance of Acquired Characteristics and Global Warming.
Level 2 communication skills and basic numeracy are the only requirements for entry to the course.
