This course is intended for part-time and full-time teachers who are working or volunteering in the post-16 sector and need to meet the requirements for a recognised teaching qualification. In Year 1, participants will develop a ‘reflective practitioner’ approach to teaching, which will be continued in Year 2 as they build on their skills as a professional practitioner. On successful completion, they may be possible to progress to an Honours Degree in Education or a related subject.
Participants should have a relevant qualification in their subject specialism and a minimum of 75 hours teaching for each year in which they will be following the course. If they have already successfully completed Year 1 of a Certificate in Further and Higher Education or have an equivalent qualification they can apply for direct entry onto Year 2 of the Certificate course.
