The aim of the course is to train high-calibre performers for the diverse demands of the musical theatre profession. Students work in a range of collaborative artistic settings in conjunction with a wide range of leading industry professionals. Principal Study tuition in singing, dance and acting is supported by Performance Projects and Complementary Studies. This is a unique performance-based degree which offers the opportunity for individual vocal tuition as well as group coaching in singing, dance and acting. Students receive coaching and support to prepare them for a wide range of highly competitive auditions. The extensive industry contacts put students in close contact with influential directors and choreographers actively scouting for talented performers. Opportunities within this sector include: musical theatre productions, international and UK tours, film and television industries, commercials and cruise ships.
Students need standard Requirements 3 GCSEs (including English Language) at Grade C or above, one A level pass (performing arts subject preferred), equivalent qualifications/experience, equivalent qualifications (including BTEC/NVQ etc.) and/or relevant prior experience may be considered.
