The course covers the following modules in year 1: human development transitions and change, study and self, diversity and inclusion, social content of children, thinking skills, creativity and problem solving, understanding the curriculum and in year 2: safeguarding children and young people, legislation and social policy, innovate project, working relationships, project design and development, learning technologies.
Students must have a relevant National Framework Qualification Level 3 or above in childcare (CACHE DCE/CTA LEVEL 3, BTEC Diploma, STA, NVQ level 3, HNC/D, ADCE), GCSE grade C or equivalent in Maths and English (or be prepared to gain such qualifications). Students wanting to progress to primary ITT by any route must have GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English, Mathematics and Science.
