This course is for students who are working or interested in developing a career in database development, web development or software development. It bridges the gap between vocational and professional qualifications and has been specifically designed to combine practical and academic skills. It covers the following in year 1: leadership, ICT systems development, web programming, software development, work based project and in year 2: project management, database development, website development, advanced programming, work based project 2.
Students must have one of the following: a relevant Level 3 qualification (A level/GNVQ) plus three passes at GCSE grade C or above and a minimum of Level 2 Key Skills in Communication, Application of Numbers and IT (or equivalent), a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma of a good standard, Advanced GNVQ or AVCE Pass or Two HEFC modules passed.
