This course develop relevant and practical skills in business so that students can make an immediate contribution to their organisation, as well as developing core skills and understanding based on the national benchmark in business and management. The course is made up of eleven units studied over two years. It covers the following in year 1: work based learning, self analysis and career development, the customer in the competitive environment, the organisation, managing people, managing financial resources and in year 2: work based learning, research methods for business, managing for the customer, managing change, operations and project management.
Students must have at least one of the following: a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in an appropriate area, a GNVQ in an appropriate vocational area, A Levels or other Level 3 qualifications, an Access to Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved further education institution and related work experience.
