Core Process Psychotherapy is based on a deep understanding of human personality process and human potential. It is also about understanding the developmental process in the generation of the sense of self from the earliest moments of life through to adulthood. Buddhist psychology and mindfulness or awareness practices underpin the work. Western personality theory, psychodynamic and psychotherapy skills are also integrated within the Core Process paradigm. The Foundation Course is intended to give a firm grounding in the basic theory and practice of Core Process Psychotherapy. It is a complete course in itself and is also a pre-requisite for the MA in Core Process Psychotherapeutic Training (4 years) and is highly recommended for the two-year MA in Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapeutic Practice (PQMA)
