Course Description
Research covers the environmental, economic and social factors underpinning sustainability in forest systems, studying processes ranging from individual ecological interactions to those acting at a landscape level. Current research includes: Ecophysiology of the impact and tolerance of heavy metals and Al; plant nutrition; and the role of mycorrhizas in forest ecosystems; Impacts of elevated CO2 on forest establishment and ecosystem processes; Forest genetics and tree breeding; Forest inventory, ecology, structural and dynamic modelling and economics; Conservation and restoration of forest ecosystems.
