This course is designed for solicitors and barristers including trainees. It aims to enhance existing knowledge, to create a solid foundation of understanding of forensic science and its application to law, including how to make best use of forensic evidence which can assist in establishing truth or guilt. At the end of this course, they will have an awareness of scene preservation and searching, documentation requirements, and the roles of the attendees. They will also have a basic understanding of various forms of DNA available for analysis to assist an investigator and subsequently the Courts. They will learn how finger-marks can aid an investigation.
