This course has been developed, taking into account the requirements of Skillsmart Retail - the Sector Skills Councils for retail, to ensure that qualifications meet the needs of employers, and satisfies the syllabuses of the major food safety awarding bodies. This course gives learners a basic awareness of good hygiene and safety issues and meets food industry recommendations, with reference to employees handling food in retail settings. To encourage all food handlers to be aware of the hazards to food safety within their workplace and how they can be controlled and encourage good hygiene practice. This award will enable the holder to demonstrate to the regulators that they have been properly trained in accordance with the national occupational standards and legal requirements.
No Prior requirements. Basic computer skills beneficial.
