Course Description
This course is for students experienced in Floristry Techniques. Each student can work at their own level and will be encouraged and guided to fulfil their potential. Students will develop their ability to use a wide range of skills and knowledge and competency and independently. This course is for students with either, or both, NCFE Level one and Level two in Floristry Techniques, or with other floristry experience. The course is designed to give the student a chance to explore all areas in floristry, including the treatment and availability of commercial flowers. The use of colour, using a colour wheel, gift packaging and hand tied bouquets. Communication required for selling in a flower shop. The principles of wiring, bridal work and the fundamentals of design in floristry and funeral tributes, including basing flowers on small to medium formal tributes. Plants and their care and flower arranging including baskets and posy arrangements.

Assessment method
Candidates will be assessed through each piece of work they produce - verbally guided and marked each lesson. They will also be marked on their working file. This will contain items they have collected and researched i.e.. photographs, visual materials - like cloth, ribbons, magazine cuttings, drawings, different cultures and how they use flowers, including plant care. They will be required to produce three pieces of work - from the whole year for assessment - and a working file, a lot of this will be information learnt in class, the rest would be what they discover themselves

Equipment and Materials
Students will need scissors, knife, Large piece of plastic to work on, Workbox to hold all wires, tape etc; a file to keep all work in Pen and paper; flowers and equipment required each week for student's projects
