Modules

Year 1: Comprises a number of projects interspersed with self-directed work; the projects offer students ways of making, thinking, and imagining which they may not have encountered before; materials, concepts and skills are introduced progressively allowing students to gain confidence; an induction course in photography enables work to be documented; drawing is perceived as a partner to making: a life room is available. Years 2 and 3: Students determine their own work programmes in consultation with their personal tutors, other members of the sculpture staff and with visiting specialist lecturers; students are given the opportunity to exhibit sculpture; this culminates in the annual exhibition at Cannizaro Park; exhibitions are followed by critical seminars in which the meaning and context of the works are explored and debated.
