This course provides students with the technical knowledge and conceptual tools necessary to develop their projects; it embraces all photographic styles as a means of artistic expression, from staged studio shoots to documentary and gallery installation; students learn to use both traditional and digital photographic equipment and processes to realise their ideas; regular individual tutorials and group seminars encourage analysis and self-reflection, and support the development of students� personal practice inspired by the history and theories of photography and fine art; a programme of national and international study visits provide an opportunity for students to engage with a wide range of contemporary art; a strong emphasis on work placements and a range of exhibition opportunities help participants realise career ambitions as artists and in creative industries.
Level 1: The constructed image; digital imaging for artists; the series. Level 2: crossing divides; interdisciplinary approaches; personal practice; presentation, installation and location. Level 3: independent study; working in the arts.
