Course Description
Applications are welcomed in any subject area of Fine Art in which there is supervision by appropriate staff. Students project may be practice-led, historical or theoretical, and will be supported by supervision in the context of strong practice-based, art-historical and cross-disciplinary research activities. Students are encouraged to exhibit their work in appropriate venues and attend and make presentations at regular postgraduate seminars, which aim to encourage intellectual and practical exchange between academic staff, visiting artists and students. The research undertaken by staff and students includes practice-based and theoretical research in fine art, art history, curatorship and digital media. Research covers an impressive range of practices within fine art, including drawing, painting, sculpture, public art, printmaking, video and installation, as well as theoretical and historical research in art history and public art. Students can benefit from not only the specific research and practice expertise of individual members of staff within fine art and the history of art, but also from the range of resources and opportunities for interdisciplinary and collaborative research available.
Course Fees
Fees for 2009-10 are £4,195 full-time, and £2,100 part-time.

Entry Requirements
An upper-second-class Honours degree or higher or an international equivalent. For the MPhil or PhD a Master's degree or equivalent is preferred. Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90 (Internet-based), 577 (paper-based) or equivalent.
