Students learn about advanced finance concepts as well as acquiring knowledge of quantitative, mathematical, analytical and research skills which have direct application to the professional environment the programme combines finance modules with mathematics modules to provide students with the best of both worlds; topics covered include financial derivatives, risk and insurance, corporate finance, market microstructures, financial econometrics, and computer programming.
Compulsory modules: Applied statistics and probability, computations in finance; continuous time finance; corporate finance; discrete time finance; financial derivatives; financial econometrics; mathematical review; risk and insurance; risk management; dissertation route: research methods in finance; dissertation; non dissertation route: current issues in finance; optimisation methods in finance; plus either consumer and corporate credit; or securities markets microstructure.
