This course develops skills and research techniques in aspects of animal nursing and animal health. // The course covers pet health counselling, advanced diagnostics, nutrition and dietetics, inheritance and disease, veterinary practice management and IT, livestock health and welfare and techniques in rehabilitation. Second year modules include pathology, applied industrial research, exotics and wildlife, intensive care nursing, pharmacology, animal behaviour and recent advances in animal health. // The programme is delivered through a series of formal lectures, workshops and laboratory practicals. Assessment is through written assignments, presentations, and some examination. Tutorial support is provided during time in college and via the virtual learning environment. // This course will allow students to progress within the world of work related to veterinary nursing or onto the final year of an appropriate BSc (Hons) programme.
