This course enables participants to gain a solid understanding of the equine industry in a vocational way. It covers contents that include: equine anatomy and physiology, equine welfare and husbandry, principles of management, training young horses, a choice of: riding and training horses, veterinary science, equine and human sports science, horse breeding management, applied enterprise management, introduction to research skills, a choice of: riding and training horses on the flat, equine health management, riding and training horses over fences and stresses in the sports horse.
Participants should have 120 UCAS points made up from A levels, preferably one in a Science based subject, or relevant Level 3 vocational qualification. They should also have a GCSE grade C or above in English, Maths and Science.
