Course Description
Running one day a week during term time, this course is suitable for anyone wanting an introductory insight into the world of the fine and decorative arts. There will be opportunities to learn about the materials and techniques used to fashion fine and decorative art objects and to dip into a range of stylistic periods significant in the history of western arts from the Renaissance to the present day. The development of basic skills and abilities enhancing enjoyment of the arts in London is a fundamental aim of the course and the format is ideally suited to those with limited time wanting to make the most of the capital's rich resources.Participants attend an illustrated lecture in the morning, reconvening in the afternoon for a site visit in London. The course can be taken as three successive terms or on a modular basis. Discounts are available for booking more than one term at once. This course is a 'taster' for the more intensive Certificate, Diploma, and Master's options offered by Christie's Education. We also have a follow on London Art Course on Modern and Contemporary Art.

Venue Description
Christie's Education is provided with teaching spaces including five lecture rooms, and has a museum room, student common room, and Learning Resources Centre which includes a computer room, slide library, periodicals and book library. It is a short walk from Oxford Street, and Warren Street and Great Portland Street tube stations.
