Course Description
This course covers three stages of 60 credits each: First focuses on the knowledge and skills needed to survive successfully in the professional environment, such as funding and dissemination of art work. You are also introduced to research methods and debates and continue the development of your own practice. You study modules in advanced practice, research skills and methods and professional context. The second stage further develops your individual practice related to a strengthened theoretical understanding. You study modules in advanced practice, and debates and issues. The final stage consists of one module concentrating on the production of a sustained body of work with supporting documentation, which brings together your research and your theoretical knowledge.
Course Fees
Fees for 2008/09 are likely to rise by approximately 5%, from the foregoing 2007/08 fees quoted: taught & research full-time £4500 & part-time £375 (per 15 credit taught module); part-time research £1230; Professional doctorates will ordinarily charged at the above mentioned research rates, whilst DMan will cost £10000. You are advised to check with the Provider, concerning individual course fees.

Assessment includes a practice submission with supporting statement and essay.
Entry Requirements
Applicants will be able to demonstrate recent relevant education or experience in Fashion, and have an ability to communicate effectively both in their chosen media and written/ spoken English. Accreditation of professional experience may be possible for practitioners without a first degree. Those for whom English is not a first language, will require a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or 6.0 minimum in the university's pre-sessional English course.
