Fashion Skills Training - Fashion Illustration Part 1, Evening Course This 6 week course is designed to introduce you to the foundations of design for fashion, including drawing techniques such as how to proportion the human form and draw realistic looking fabrics, use painting and other colouring mediums, and using mixed media to illustrate fashion. As well as discovering exciting ways to develop design ideas and work to themes, you will look at established designers work and explore uses of computer software programs to create patterns and create designs. You will create a series of mood boards and designs with set themes and produce a small portfolio of work which can be used towards entering further education or work. Course numbers are limited to 12 students to maximise tutor support time. On the course you will: • Learn how to develop ideas for design • Learn how to draw the human figure • Create a set of fashion drawing templates • Learn how to draw realistic looking fabrics • Learn how to use painting and drawing techniques for fashion design • Create mixed media fashion designs • Learn how to use Photoshop to create patterns and illustrate fashion • Create a sketchbook/portfolio of work (sketchbook provided) • Explore the work of established designers • Create a collection of final designs to a set theme • Meet likeminded people and enjoy a friendly and relaxed, creative environment What you will gain: • Creative skills in designing for fashion • An understanding of the human form and how to create designs to suit the body • A series of designs and illustrations to take forward into further education or work • Insight into the fashion industry and other designers work • Certificate of achievement
