The course begins with an introduction and taster of all different aspects of Fashion, through drawing, research gathering and design development, students will begin to understand the potential of this creative area. There will be workshops in pattern cutting, design development where we take images and drawings and develop them into garment designs, figure drawing, contextual studies/ fashion history and many more opportunities to explore this exciting realm of design. All students will be asked to provide art / textile equipment and materials a full list will be given in course handbook. There will be an exhibition and fashion show at the end of the year, where we will celebrate student success. As the course is two years the second year will be more specialised, students will concentrate on their individual selected pathways and produce a body of work that reflects this investigation.
