This counter terrorism protective security initiative is aimed at all business communities including local authority staff, NHS staff, public transport staff, leisure industry staff, hotel security management and front line personnel, security operatives and door supervisors, retail and shopping centre employees, airline and airport staff and all those considering or currently engaged in careers in the civil service, non-governmental organizations and the media. It includes: risk analysis, common terrorist acts, perspectives and ideologies, weaponry or explosives and methods of operation, current risks and preparation for emergency incidents, creating a security plan and managing the risks and discovery of a suspect device.

I found the course really interesting. No prior knowledge is really needed although I'd say Geography GCSE would be an advantage. One teacher called Andy had a very good way of explaining things and made the lessons more enjoyable....more
