This course offers a fundamental training in the principles of laboratory research methods and the range of techniques used to study the behaviour of oral tissues in health and disease.
Modules include: molecular organisation of the cell; techniques in cell and molecular biology; the biology of oral tissues; cellular pathology; inflammation; general and oral immunology; oral microbiology; oral pathology; the 2nd half of the course is devoted to a supervised research project; this may also provide a starting point for a PhD programme for suitable candidates.
