The course provides a combination of modules focusing on ethical; religious; or social thought in the ancient or modern world; enables students to think critically about the ethical basis of action and the relationship of ethics to social and religious contexts.
Compulsory modules: Ethical theory; research methodology 1; research methodology 2; dissertation; plus 2 option modules; recent options include: theology, ethics and economics; Greek and Roman ethics; gender and theology; sexuality, marriage and the Churches; philosophical questions about religion; experiencing the Divine in Ancient Israel: ritual; practice and cult; the social sciences and New Testament interpretation: contemporary approaches; new approaches to the study of Paul; the rise of Christian Rome; science and theology: duet or duel?

This course is not too bad to start off with, but the workload increases a lot in the second year! The modules are reasonably interesting, but some of the lecturers arent amazing....more
