Course Description
The course is for managers who find environmental issues playing an increasing role in their decision making. It is also for graduates of any discipline who want to enter environmental business management and consultancy. Past students have come from the steel industry, retail sector, utility companies, refractory companies, insurance industry and Environment Agency. The course covers: the environmental impact of products and services, integrating European legislative requirements into policy and designing environmental management systems. You also study liability issues, risk management and environmental problem solving in business. The course is vocational and concentrates on project managing environmental issues from problem definition to solution. It develops business and environmental awareness and skills, with a thorough theoretical understanding of environmental problems and policy. Because of the intensive project taken during the international field trip you gain skills essential for international employment. We centre assessment on your practical application of learning and developing project management skills. You take major projects in teams studying environmental liability, life cycle assessment and energy and water management. These simulate real-life environmental management problems and tasks.
Course Fees
Typically £3,300 for the course, which can be paid in yearly instalments. There is an additional field visit fee for the optional international environmental project module.

Assessment method
80 per cent coursework and portfolios and 20 per cent examinations.
Entry Requirements
A good first degree in any discipline and/or business management experience allied to an interest and enthusiasm for environmental management issues.
