This course seeks to provide biologists planning a career in environmental research with a toolbox of essential techniques; there is a strong emphasis on the development of the quantitative skills that are essential for a career in modern environmental biology; the course is available as a conversion programme for mathematical, physical, chemical and molecular sciences graduates wishing to pursue a career in environmental biology, and for biology graduates planning a career in environmental research.
Plant responses to the environment; marine ecology and physiology; conservation biology; environmental genomics; environmental microbiology and ecotoxicology; estimating animal abundance; essential scientific skills and relevant legislation; modeling ecological dynamics; enterprise, creativity and innovation; case studies in environmental biology; statistical modelling.
