Course Description
This course provides a thorough grounding in the study of English Language and provides the chance to develop your interest and expertise in French, Spanish or German. It is designed to give you the skills and knowledge required for a range of graduate careers such as teaching, marketing or translation.There are core and optional modules in the areas of literature, language and a choice from: French, German or Spanish. One third of the programme will be in the Modern Language chosen and two thirds in English language. Your will be based in English department and work closely with our language staff. We aim to help you develop highly marketable foreign language skills both of a general and a specifically vocational nature. You will develp your skills in the four main areas of writing , reading, speaking and listening in a range of practical and useful contexts.You will also develop a familiarity with the contemporary social, cultural and economic contexts of the foreign countries whose language you study, so that you can communicate meaningfully and profitably with native speakers.

Assessment method
Via formal examinations, essays, projects, log books & commentaries, oral presentations and writing portfolios.
