Studying English language gives students an insight into how the English language came to occupy its current dominant role; it helps students understand how language is connected with other aspects of society, including power, culture and the economy; the degree programme integrates theoretical psychology, techniques of psychological investigation and the major areas of applied psychology; in the first 2 years students focus on theoretical aspects and develop expertise in a broad range of research methodologies; in the final year students concentrate on the practical application of psychological principles.
