In this course participants will learn about language production and variation through the mutually illuminating activities of writing in different forms and textual analysis; it also gives the opportunity to explore creative and transactional forms of writing and develop understanding of how language creates meaning in written, spoken and electronic modes. The specification will also allow them to gain valuable insights into the language development of children and they will be taught the importance of cultural sensitivity in language.
