This course is essential preparation for students whose first language is not English and who wish to study or work in an English-speaking country or crew. It is also an appealing way to improve their grasp of English through an engagement with the motion-picture medium. They acquire English language film vocabulary and grammar that will give them the confidence to walk on to a film set or into a film-training environment and communicate effectively with a crew, tutors and fellow students. They will practice the terminology of story-boarding, scripting, directing, lighting, sound recording, documentary and feature film production and post-production through exercises and practical projects.
