The new MSc in engineering with finance has been designed for engineering and science graduates who wish to pursue a career in quantitative finance; the finance industry is increasingly recruiting graduates who can apply traditional engineering analysis methods to find innovative solutions to financial problems; this taught Master's course combines a balanced mix of engineering and quantitative finance modules; students acquire a specialised understanding of the principles and practices of engineering required in roles such as financial analyst and risk management professional.
Areas of study: Strategic analysis of financial systems; advanced pattern recognition techniques; advanced control systems; probability and inference; portfolio theory and asset pricing models; financial engineering; research methods and project design; MSc project.
