This course provides students with sufficient knowledge and skills to allow learners to operate as a competent engineering technician; students develop not only technical know-how but also a practical and analytical approach to problem-solving that allows students to address a range of engineering challenges; the course enhances the integration of academic and work-based learning through collaboration with employers; students gain the skills and knowledge to deliver solutions to real engineering problems; learn how engineering works in a business context; to become effective engineering technician and undertake lifelong learning particularly for continuing professional development; to respond to national and local employment needs and patterns of service delivery; to develop an understanding of the integrated academic and practical engineering through work-based learning.
