Environmental problems require solutions which cross traditional subject boundaries, requiring an understanding of social, political and economic issues, as well as scientific and technological principles. National and European legislation, and even global agreements, will affect how industry manages its affairs.
Compulsory modules: Trimester1: Energy and sustainability; health, safety and environmental management; trimester 2: Renewable energy technologies or energy technology, and GIS and environmental management or water quality and waste water treatment; elective modules (2 to be selected each trimester): Trimester1: Environmental pollution; monitoring and analysis; resources and sustainability; environmental planning and impact assessment; sustainable waste management. Trimester2: Integrated case study; advanced waste treatment technologies; contaminated land and landfill engineering; project.
