About this course

Edexcel BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is a specialist vocational programme, linked to professional body requirements and with a strong work related emphasis. The HND provides a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required in the electrical and electronic engineering sector and its wide recognition by employers allows progression directly into employment. This programme aims to develop a good understanding of the key areas of electrical and electronic engineering, preparing for students a wide range of careers and further study. The strong emphasis is also placed on transferable skills, e.g. project management, people management, planning and business management techniques, to ensure that graduates have the awareness to succeed in the ever changing technological and management context. A range of assessment methods is used including coursework, time constrained assignments, projects, report and presentations.

A very down to earth course. Teachers are well prepared and try to make things as practical as possible. Lots of field trips. Curriculm is interesting: surverying, construction, health and safety, management in civil engineering....more
