The course supports applicants in structuring their work-based research more formally, and turning it into a number of academic publications or a portfolio, thereby acknowledging their work at the highest level; recent projects include: Coeducate: Curriculum Design project funded by JISC; the project seeks to develop new approaches to curriculum design in higher education; SPLICE: Lifelong learning project funded by JISC; the project seeks to uncover the pedagogical, technological and organisational challenges in encouraging learners to be self-regulating; TENCompetence: European lifelong learning project seeking to develop technical and organisational infrastructure; widget server: developing technology to extent the functionality of Virtual Learning Environments; CETIS innovation service: working on cloud computing, open educational resources, standards and other emerging technologies.
