This course is aimed at people who are working in the primary, secondary or post-16 sector as a leader or an aspiring leader of Religious Education; the taught programme provides students with the opportunity to work directly with educational colleagues as part of Religious Education learning community; students are guided through the programme by expert tutors in Religious Education.
The opening module of the programme, Professional Learning � specialism in Religious Education, explores concepts and principles relating to Religious Education in the context of international, national and local agendas for change; the module gives consideration to a range of pertinent issues including curriculum management of Religious Education, Pedagogy for Religious Education in local contexts and contemporary challenges for Religious Education; masters participants will be required to reflect systematically on practice and consider issues related to improving the learning and curriculum leadership of Religious Education; the module serves to facilitate the development of critical thinking and reflection through engagement with literature on the leading of learning in Religious Education; the Masters programme brings together a combination of effective learning and teaching strategies, leading to professional and academic development for the participant.
