This course covers core units: equality, diversity, and rights in care work, communication and supportive skills for care work, research for care, applying sociology and vocational practice, applying psychology, protecting self and others, personal and professional development; specialist units: health promotion, practical caring skills, care organisations, project in care, life span development, issues for people who use care services. After completing this course students will progress onto Higher education or employment in social care organisations.
Students must have 4 GCSEs at grades A-C in relevant subjects; or a related level 2 qualification with a merit.
