This programme is based on a special agreement signed by a consortium of 7 European universities and supported by the European Commission's Socrates Programme as well as Erasmus Mundus; it covers analytical and research skills in economics, particularly skills relevant to business analysis, and the opportunity to apply these skills to specialist areas of international trade and European integration; the 1st teaching block of this programme is taught at Staffordshire University and covers the important theoretical background in economic analysis that is used in analysing applied topics covered in the 2nd semester; the 2nd teaching block is spent at the University of Antwerp and Prague University of Economics (3 months in each); students spend a significant amount of their studies on applying their theoretical economics to analyse issues facing EU policy makers or policy makers in central and east European countries which have embarked on transition to the market system; the final part of the programme, the dissertation, is at Staffordshire University again.
Core modules: Economic analysis of the firm 1; macroeconomic analysis; research methods in economics 1; dissertation; plus 60 credits taken at the partner institutes.

The pace of the course is very fine. First semester is basic so its easy but in the second semester it takes you to the deep end....more
