Economics: The course provides a study route in business economics with some opportunities to develop individual interests and aptitudes; it develops the capacity of students to plan and manage their own learning and undertake independent work in economics and business economics; it aims to provide students with opportunities to develop general and subject-specific skills which help prepare them for further study or progression to a range of careers.Politics: The programme aims to develop a systematic understanding of key aspects of the field of politics enabling students to engage critically with the nature of the subject and its significance for wider human activity; a detailed and specific knowledge informed by developments at the forefront of academic enquiry of specific aspects; a wider understanding of key concepts, theories and methods deployed in the the study of politics; to equip students with ability to describe and comment upon current research and deploy their knowledge and skills in suitable research work of their own employing established techniques of analysis and enquiry.
