Designed in collaboration with industry professionals, this course focuses on the economic analysis of financial issues, financial products and international financial markets; it focuses on contemporary issues in the economic and financial environment such as corporate governance, investment and financing decisions, international trade and investment flows; during the programme students are able to select specialist modules from a number of options in the fields of finance and economics; students also have the opportunity to do an in-company consultancy project and apply for and complete a 3 month internship in a relevant company.
Quantitative methods for economics and finance; information and risk; macroeconomic environment; international banking and financial markets; economics of finance; organisation, ownership and control; research planning and methods for economics and finance; individual research project of 15,000 words; optional modules: economic and financial modelling; macroeconomic modelling; business problem-solving using economics; economics of international trade and investment.
