This course is aimed at coaches and prospective coaches, is generic for all sports and looks to build towards the Government’s Agenda for Sport, producing competent coaches who have the academic background and practical ability to coach at a variety of levels. Teaching will be organised in modules and delivery will be through various techniques, including lectures, practical work, self-directed studies and project work. During both years of the programme, you will be required to carry out coaching sessions in the sport of your choice, providing justification for their sessions, showing progression, considering future aims and requirements, as well as self-evaluation.
Applicants are required to have a Level 3 qualification in a related subject and at least two year’s experience of working within the Early Years sector. If possible, this should be supported by GCSEs Grade C or above in English and Maths.
