This course is offered on a non modular basis; this course is focused on the foundation stage and key stage 1, allowing students to teach children between the ages of 3 and 7; 3 modules are studied at Master's level to give 60 credits towards a future Master's course; all aspects of understanding children's learning and development in this area are studied; the course particularly focuses on 3 separate themes relating to early years: information communication and technology (ICT); working with children with special educational needs (SEN); working with children who use English as an additional language (EAL); successful completion of this course leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), subject to satisfactory performance in skills tests.
