This programme aims to provide students with a high level of academic knowledge and enhanced practical skills in the development and education of young children; it also concentrates on helping students develop important management skills with children; success in this field requires an in-depth understanding of children's social, physical, emotional and intellectual needs; the programme also looks at provision, which must be planned against a background of changing legislation and fluctuating trends in public opinion; in addition, students need to develop appropriate management skills in order to be able to plan strategies within the constraints of each organisation.
Core modules in: Contemporary issues in childhood; research project; the child with special needs; 2 options chosen from; health matters; international perspectives in childhood; managing people and organisations.
