Consists of 5 core modules for the PgCert, plus 5 additional modules for the PgDip, plus a dissertation for MSc; course is particularly aimed at professionals in the areas of emergency planning, risk assessment, community development, humanitarian aid, capacity building and associated professions wishing to gain an improved understanding of contemporary issues in disaster management, and the evolving risk landscape; programme is designed to accommodate the ongoing professional commitments of practitioners and to equip them with the research skills, knowledge and management expertise required to deal with future crises, emergencies and disasters in the developed and developing world.
